Ive been using Shrink for some time now but I was wondering if you could do maximum compression on a movie like 20% to where it is like only 1gb and save it on a HD and then turn around and unshrink it later to burn it. See I have a big DVD collection and just got a 400gb HD to store my backups on instead of burning them to DVDs I wanted to store the images on my HD and then keep my HD in case something ever happened to my originals.

Do you know of any programs that can do that or do I just have to invest more money in another HD?

Not reversible means no,there is not a program that will do it.

This is why we make back ups,in case something happens to the originals.

The jury is still out, on how long back ups last, since this medium hasnt been around long, nobody really knows.
Use good media, and store your backups properly, and they should last several years.

Beware of Blockbusters trace chip
I think CKY_2084 has heard enough of that for one day.
My bad that was yesterday, fire away.

Some claim it will last fifty or a hundred years. They must have thier head in the same plasitc bag the DVD would be in.
