DUO II SE Problems HELP!!! PLZZ(V4)

I installed a DUOII SE modchip on my v4 ps2, it reads PS2 originals perfectly but it doesnt read backups for some reason. I cleaned my lens several times and even put my freinds drive in (his works perfectly with backups) but it still doesnt work. The isntallation was done properlly i checked several times. and now i have no clue wut is wrong with it. If any one has any suggestions please reply i am in desperate need of help.

Hello....try holding reset button for 5 sec then booting. that should turn chip on. That chip has an "on/off" feature. Should ahve been in the instructions.
