To Titmus:

Your problem is the crappy Maxell discs.
Go buy some Ridata's and you'll see the difference.
Also, 1x is not better than 4x, the algorithm used in the recorders for 1x is old and the way the burners burn the disc at 4x is more reliable than the old 1x method, so, you may find that a disc burned at 4x may play better than one burned at 1x, and you will save a lot of time too. I haven't had any problems and I have over 500 ps2 dvd backups.

Isobuster is maily used for games with high toc anything over 4.37 gigs I believe, anyways I used iso buster to make successfull backups of nba street v3 and Mercenaries.

How to use it?

Well once you have created the image on to your hard drive You open that image with isobuster you select all of it's contents and extract them to a folder ( create ne w folder for this) then You can use something like Nero to make an image of the files in that folder once the image is done you can use Nero to burn that new image. Note that isobuster eliminates size on your game
for example nba street v3 was 4.37 before and ending up 2.38 gigs and worked fine.

You don't need CDDVDGEN to rebuild the image? You can use Nero? I've never been able to install CDDVDGEN on my PC, I get some 16 bit error.

I don't agree with this at all. When you burn at 4x you have an increased chance for errors. On a movie, chances are you won't notice these errors and the laser just keeps on reading the data. On a game, the laser jumps around and is not continuous and if you have the wrong data and the laser tries to jump to that spot, it might not be able to read it correctly or even read it at all. I've had problems burning games at 2x where the cut-scenes are jumpy and stuff. Once I started burning at 1x I have had no problems whatsoever. Also if you ask other people here, you will find that burning at 1x is the general practice.
