I bought a pre-modified ps2 (version 7) back in December of 2003. It claims to be modded with an "official Magic V" chip. I have been backing up the older games I own for some time and know exactly how to burn them, but recently the following backups will not even start (all never played online)
1) Call of duty:finest hour
2) DragonballZ 3
3) Goldeneye: Rogue Agent

From the forum I have heard that a magic 3.1 in a v7 ps2 will not play all games so my question is this. Did they sell me a Magic V and instead put in a cheaper Magic 3.1? Or is that particular Magic V is just older and will not work? I bought my console from an official reseller so it is not a fake. When I contacted them they became very rude and told me the only fix is to get a knew mod chip. I could not find any patches and don't think they exist (PS2ownz.com will not let me view the forum due to my email), and I would like to aviod opening my console because I broke my last one that way. Thanx for the help.
