I have been experiencing a problem recently with several "pre-release" (or pirate) dvd movies. The pc will not recognised that a disc has been inserted into the drive. Neither a DVD ROM (samsung 16x)nor DVD RW (sony 540UDX)can read these discs.

I have tried these discs on 4 other pc/notebooks with roms or writers and they cannot be read.

At the same time I am still able to read and rip other pre-release or original movie discs.

Just now dvd decrypter 3.5.2 was briefly able to recognise that a disc was inserted into the drive (even though windows explorer could not do the same) BUT dvd decrypter gives the "UFDfindpartition returned 0" error.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance
ccu

I have exactly the same problem with these DVDs so far.

By opening the DVD in My Computer, Windows shows this message:
"Windows can not read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows."
