PAL DVD files to NTSC ??

I just received my movies from Amazon UK in PAL format.

Currently using a DELL 2Ghz with 768 Mhz RAM
Pinnacle Studio 8 Canopus Procoder 2

I ripped the DVD to HD and found the main movie Vob's
Imported them to Procoder which gave me an AVI file of about 17.5 gigs converted to NTSC.

Imported that file to Pinnacle Studio 8 and as I am writing, rendering to DVD files to burn in Nero 6 ultra.

Is there a shorter way to do this, Procoder took about 7 hours to convert vob's to an AVI and Pinnacle is probably going to take about 4 or 5 hours to render?
