I'm not sure if i've posted this problem in nthe right place, I'm a first time user!

I have a Samsung TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B, when i insert a disk and double click on corresponding drive in My Computer I get the following error message:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running in MS-Dos and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose ?Close? to terminate the application.

Any Info/advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks Junior

at the time i was trying to read a epson c62 original driver disk! however the problem seems to be consistent with all types of disks, i.e (applications, audio etc)

hi

ok, from what i can work out it may have something to do with your SOUND CARD in conjuction iwth your cdrom!

does this ring any bells?

check they are installed ok, check cables, check DMA is on etc...

install sound drivers...

from what i know the cdrom trys to connect the sound and if the AUTOEXEC.NT isnt ok it will throw a wobbler...

but, if it were me i would do a repair on xp, boot from cdrom and use your xp disc to repair windows!

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

I have been a tech to long it looks like, you need to replace the config.nt and probably the autoexec.nt in the system32 folder with the backups on the computer

explore to the systems32 folder rename the two nt files, then copy new ones from your windows cd.
