I have been trying to backup the ring for quite some time now. When I open shrink and click on open disc it opens and begins analyising when it gets to 60% it brings an error up that says:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
Failed to read file "D:\"
Data error(cyclic redundacy check)

Does anyone know what I can do. I tried cleaning the disc and the dvd-rom drive and it still does it.

If the disc is clean a scratch free it's most likely a bit of corrupt data from a worn out master when the disc was pressed. If it's new I'd return it for a new one or you may want to try DVD Decrypter to rip the it :)

My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

Is there a scratch on it? Also could be a flaw in the DVD disc itself.

Try ripping it with DVD Decrypter

If that dosent work you could always try re-authoring the DVD and just pull in the Title file and try backing up just the movie itself.
