I have backed up several of my DVD based PS2 games and have recently come across my second incedent of a "second disk check". It appears that some DVD based PS2 games now include a 2nd check for the orignal media. The second check comes well after the game is loaded (defeating some earlier version mod chips), but it is obvious that it is intentional (Shrek 2 is after initial loading and Jimmy Neutron is immediately after 1st level).

I have an apple chip mod in my PS2 and this has been my only issue after several years of good service. Has anyone else come across this and found a solution?

I have tried ripping from the DVD with different programs (RecordNow, DVD Decryptor, etc.) and tried recording to a blank DVD with different programs (Nero, RecordNow, etc). I use good media (and have a few other DVD games that I have successfully backed up).

I have tried patching with the Adrenilin (EA) patcher, but this didn't help.
