Is there a difference between the 2? I cannot get the files to my HD. I have tried shrinker, smart ripper, anydvd, along w/decrypter, 1click...no luck! I got the regions window until I had anydvd running in the background, but taking that out didn't help either. Smartripper and shrinker both freeze part of the way thru. I can only gather bits and pieces from other threads, and it doesn't seem to work. I tried leaving and removing PUOs...No Go! Thanx!

Well, first of all, if this is a rented dvd, what you are doing is illegal. Maybe Jesus doesn't want you to sin. Sounds to me like errors on the dvd.

Do this:

1) Run a crc read error check on the dvd.

2) If you find crc read errors, take it back to the rental store, and tell them you cannot rip it because it has crc read errors, and that you need a better copy to rip from.
