xbox vhold?

i just modded my xbox, w/the chip, & hard drive. i had the chip 1st & it worked fine. now i changed the hard drive, & the "V Hold" comes out. i can only see the screen in the vhold. can someone help me out? what does vhold mean? its when the screen goes down all the time, & cannot really see whats going on. i appreciate anyones help. my xbox is about a year old, w/ not many usage.
