hello m8 i am using a splitter the internets in the other end lol didnt think it would make much diffrence im amazed what i did the other night still works lol thanx again for all your help

It should allow you to put back on your channels and favs.
But when you have established a connection with the stb link
Click Write Factory Data and get the saved file from your desktop.
There will be 64 blocks to upload.
Make sure as always to wait for the rapidly flashing light.
30 secs after your PC reads Transfer Complete.
Should work, if it doesn't try unplugging the box and have another go.

I have tried this a few times mate but does not want to play. I am in South Wales area. Can the specific channels be added rather than a full scan? Cheers

You can add channels by doing a manual search.
To do a manual search on the replay lite to add missing channels.
But you would have to know the freq for the ones you are missing.
You can get these off a a box that has all the channels,
On a working box, press OK when viewing them.
In the bottom left hand of the screen of the screen you will see the freq it's on and the symbol rate.
Just enter these when your doing a manual serch and it should find your missing channels.
Menu,
User Installation,
Manual Search?.OK
Up pops the Manual Search box.
Channel number: CH 1.
Frequency: 323 (what ever freq you want)
Symbol Rate: 6887 (what ever your area symbol rate)
Constellation: 64 QAM.
Search By Network: ON.
Search
The box will find a number of channels on your selected frequency.
When the search is finished, Select VIEW.
The new channels will be now stored at the bottom of your channel list.
Eg: If you already had 120 channels stored, the new ones will be stored from 121 onwards.
The manual search will find some channels you already have, just delete them
Go to menu, Channel Manager, TV Channel and use the green edit to move, delete or rename the channel list.
Any time for me bed,to many late nights on here.
There's a good guy on here Lyndon, he's from your area, check through the threads if you haven't got the frequencies and he might be able to help you.
What happens when you try to load your channels ad favs what message do you get.

Try This.

I can't understand why it wont go.
Another thing you could try is when you are getting your chanels file and it trys to transfer...unplug the box and plug it back in again relaay quickly.

No it does not matter. The USB 2.0 adapter is backward compatible with USB Rev: 1.1
Once you have both the Laptop & STBlink COM Ports set to the same number (COM1 or COM2) & your cable is definitely a NULL Modem Serial cable then it will connect.
Have tried using both Comm 1 and Comm 2 but to no avail, its defo a null modem cable, its the cable i used for cloning from box to box before now.
Any other ideas??
What software is currently on the box?
Version 7.52
Power down the box & disconnect from the PC
Close STBlink.
RE- connect the box & power up
Open STBlink
DO NOT do the COM Setup
Start the 910 update & see if it forces the connection.
Still no joy, it just said "the system cannot find the file specified" and then "COM Port open error".
Try now to set-up the COM.
If that fails you should try donloading firmware 742a & flash the box with that first & then flash it again with 910.
I have 742a but how can i flash with that if i cant establish a connection??
Also, why is it not possible to clone with 910 firmware??
It's not possible to clone because the code writers disabled it temporarily in order to make the correction to the code roll section less complicated. It's hoped it will be Re-enabled in a future firmware version.
If you do as above (Disconnect & re-connect & power up the box) then try to load 742a without doing the COM Setup.
No, still not working....
I have tried Com 1, Com 2, have tried 3 different boxes, have tried flashing with 910 and 742a and nothing works, just keeps saying "Com Port error" and wont establish a connection. Its doing my head in, sorry about this.
I tried uninstalling the driver for the usb serial cable just there and reinstalling it and its telling me now that there was an error while installing the device.I just followed instructions, attach cable, install cd and click install from disc which i put in cd drive, what could possibly be the problem there??
Its showing up on the device manager when i right click on my computer but could this be the reason the laptop wont establish a connection??
Hi mojo08 i was having the same problem with my usb to serial cable so i restarted my computer with the cable still connected and it worked after that.
You were getting the same problem as in it was saying that the cable wasnt installed properly??
I just cant figure it out at all......Hours ive spent today at it!!
Someone help.....is there a clone-able version out yet??
I was getting the same error warning "com port open error" went in to device manager and picked com 1 and i left the usb cable in the laptop and i restarted the laptop and then when i tried it after it rebooted it worked.

Cheers for all your help yesterday, eventually got the box flashed with 910 BUT when i did an auto search it didnt pick up any channels AT ALL....
Any suggestions??
I did go straight from 752 to 910, could this be the issue??

Good to here you got the box upgraded.
I have flashed Approx 40 straight from 752 to 910 & haven't had one complaint, all are happy out.
I have had one occasion when I scanned & it returned no channels & I'm almost sure it was because I forgot to untic the "Maintain User Data" prior to the flash.
Anyway, all I done to correct it was this...
Connect the power lead only.
Wait for the led to flash red/green and then stay on green.
If it does not turn green pretty quick, use the remote to turn it on.
Then connect SCART and TV cables.
You might have to unplug the box again and then power it up for a second time.
Now: Do a full scan. (Should only take 5 Min Approx)
Menu
User Installation
Auto Search
Start Frequency: 290
End Frequency: 403
Symbol Rate: 6887 (If not available, type it in manually)
Constellation: 64 QAM
Search by Network: On
Search
When all available channels are found select the ?View? button.
Goto a premium channel and wait for the box to unscramble.
?Be patient, it may take a few minutes.
Finally, check & confirm your settings:
Menu

Parental lock
Current password 0000

Confirm password 7777
Goto Key Manager
Current Key?.OK
Auto Update on
Exit back to the main menu.

The latest Firmware for the Replay Lite is 910 & is available through the link in mu Sig.
The earliest firmware version I can remember is v7.42 & I never heard of 4.90, then again, I only have my Replay Lite a little over a year now.

Yes the symbol rate for Chorus is 6875 & the Replay Lite does work on Chorus in Ireland but there have been reports from certain users that they could not get it to work.
I think it was from Firmware version 7.56 on it worked.
Try this.
When you have the box updated.
Do a full scan
Start frequency 290
End frequency 403
Symbol rate scroll left till you see *****, enter 6875 and press ok on your remote control.
Make sure it stays on 6875 Constellation 64 QAM
Search by network ON
Search ?.when all channels are found select view.
Go to parental lock
Current password 7777 it might be 0000
Parental lock: OFF
Install lock OFF
New password 7777
Confirm password 7777
Exit back to TV
Go to parental lock.
Goto key manager,
Nagra page.
Scroll left till you see 0x5E (if it?s not there, add provider ID) Type 5E in the box that pops up.
Exit back to tv.

As far as I am aware and I am open to correction on this but, if the box just has 4.90 on it it's a blank box.
No loader or software on it.
742A and 910 need to be flashed to it.

that's what i thought but when i connected it all up it stated scanning and finding channels half way through it now,only problem is it scans all symbol rates,
