Purchased my first Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R (DVD-R47ZZSB8) (100pk) from Meritline for $47.99. I had used Ritek G05's for some time but figured everyone here must know more than me so I made the switch. Would it kill Taiyo to put there friggin' name somewhere??Anywhere on the package or disc?? Geez!!! Ok, sorry had to get that out of my system. Well here is what DVD Identifier had to say.

Thats them.

And about the lack of placement of their brand name. They sell their disks OEM. Their disks aren't marketed, and they are used mainly for professional purposes. Somebody who burns several thousand disks of their own movies for profit doesn't exactly want a big TY logo peeking through their personally printed graphics.

Now that you know what a genuine package of TY disks looks like, you'll know how to distinguish the genuines form the fakes. :)

Thanks guys - was getting worried when I saw the article this AM on fake Taiyo's. The GGXXXXX helped me a lot. Got from Meritline and figured they were reliable.Makes sense also on someone using them to make a profit having a manufacturers logo on the disc.Just am curious that cannot find where mine were manufactured.
