Don't know whether this is in the right forum but maybe this will help others with this problem. Have Momitsu DVD player set to playback 780 resolution using DVI cable and was having problems with freezing with backup copied movies on my Panasonic HDTV.Tried different brand discs and burning speeds and hope I finally have found the solution for me and it might work for others. I have been using the Taiyo Yudens 8x - discs and have found cutting the burn down to 2X I have not had any freezing with my last 4 copies. Tried burning at 12X all the way down to 2X. Tried Memorex - Verbatims also but Taiyo Yudens seems the best with my Pioneer 108.I can burn using Shrink & Nero or XPress as long as burn is no faster than 2X. I can burn a movie using either program and play on my Sony player on a non HD Sony Vega set with no freezing using a 12X burn setting on my burner. Don't know whether the upconverting player or HD was causing the problem. Maybe this will help someone else.This has worked for me but might not for others. Nothing more frustrating than watching a flick and get freezing half way through it.
