so how do i know if a western digital 200gb hard drive will work with the sony ps2??
i will be using the hd advance 2.0 and the network adapter.
i know alot of people are using the maxtor hd but i still like the performance of the west digital hd over maxtor.
now i also have been reading that the rear connection on the hard drive are different from a computer and the ps2 network adapter, is this true and if so how do you go about converting the 2??
any info would help
thx

do you already have the wd hd? If so, see if it fits in your network adaptor. If you don't already have it, i suggest NOT getting it.

naw. go for the maxtor 200gb diamondmax 7200rpm 8mb cache. it will format to 187gb with the hdadvance2.0 with no problems fits in the ps2 perfectly, i heard the pins in the western digital dont line up with the network adaptor and you have to bend them to get it to fit so you risk damaging the hdd and the network adaptor. most ordinary hdd's for pc will fit fine but maxtor is recommended
Ha... Is there anything i don't know!

right maxtor or hitachi either one is a perfect fit.
so you got a hdd over 160 to work i heard that you could only use 160 or less that is why i suggested it, but if 200 works then i stand corrected
