I am trying to backup this up. I usually use Games Xcopy but this game is too large. I don't know much about bin files or iso but am willing to try to learn. Anyone know what I should do? I have downloaded isobuster but when I get to the part that says convert extracted files into 2 bin files I am lost. Thanks

Use Dvd decrpyter to both read the ps2 game onto your computer hdd as an .iso image file and then write it to disc as well. Simple program, works great.

This is for the people usuing swap magic that have the game freeze on loading screen. Took a while and some reading but finally got it to work. Credit due to all original people not me.

first you need to download dvddvd gen 1.50 (NOTE YOU MUST HAVE 1.50 not 1.2)
go to http://www.exploitstation.com/
register and go back to home page
log in and click Downloads
download cd-dvd gen 1.50+iso builder

OPEN ISO

1) Mount ptc-nbasv3 ISO(the ISO file you downloaded from TB) with Daemon Tools.
2) Use ISObuster(need to download if you dont have this program) to view the ISO image
3) Make a new folder on your desktop and extract all the files from the ISO to this new folder
4) MAKE SURE TO KEEP ISOBUSTER OPEN AFTER YOU EXTRACT FILES. You need to keep ISObuster open so that you can view the original order of the files on the ISO

CDDVDGEN (directory tab)

1) Open CDDVDGEN 1.50 that you downloaded earlier
2) Select create new project - press ok
3) Select DVD-ROM master disk - press ok
4) Make sure the "Directory Tab is selected" and Drag the files you extracted earlier onto CDDVDGEN ** Very important to drag them in the same order as ISObuser has them listed. (this is why i told you to keep ISOBuster open)

Your layout from top to bottom should look like this:
XF
DATABASE
CSSCRIPTS .. etc

CDDVDGEN (Volume tab)

5) After you have moved all the files from "New folder" to directory tab, Select tab VOLUME
6) In the Disk name field type SLUS
7) in the second Disk name field type the numbers 21126
8) in producer name field type PLAYSTATION
9) in license area field select AMERICA

CDDVDGEN (Record tab)

10) Next click the record tab
11) YOU WILL GET 2 ERRORS, JUST CLICK OK
12) Save as NBA to your desktop
13) A new window will pop up after the errors called cd/dvd rom recording. Click file ---> export image
14) name NBAsv3 and it will start to create image files
15) when its done you will have 3 new files = nbasv3.000, nbasv3.001, nbasv3.002 (also will create a .lst file) *also note for me i had a nbasv3.000 , nbasv3.002 and anotehr nbasv3 file. on the third file if you right click and select properties it will say nbasv3.001

CDDVDGEN ISOBUILDER

1) open up cddvdgen iso builder
2) select files and navigate to the .000 file (then repeat for file .001, and .002)
3) after the 3 files are in the list , select destination for new image and click build.
4) wait a few mins and then burn new ISO

I just burned NBA bol.3 successfully the other day and here how to do it. You don't need CDVDGEN 1.50; I have ISOBuster 1.7 and CDVDGEN 1.20 and it worked perfect.

Follow These Instruction And You'll Be Fine:

YOU MUST HAVE DVD Decrypter, CDVDGEN, AND ISOBUSTER INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER.

1) COPY THE PS2 GAME DVD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE AS AN ISO IMAGE.
a)OPEN DVD Decrypter.
b)IN THE DESTINATION AREA, CLICK ON THE FOLDER ICON TO CHOOSE BOTH A NAME AND A STORAGE LOCATION FOR THE ISO IMAGE.
c)CLICK ON MODE > ISO > READ.
d)CLICK ON THE DVD ICON TO START THE PROCESS.
e)WAIT UNTIL THE PROCESS IS FINISHED THEN CLOSE DECRYPTER AND GO TO STEP 2.

2) EXTRACT THE FILES FROM THE ISO IMAGE.
a) CREATE A NEW FOLDER ON YOUR HARD DRIVE TO STORE THE
EXTRACTED FILES.
b) OPEN ISO BUSTER AND CLICK ON FILE > OPEN IMAGE FILE.
c) NAVIGATE TO THE ISO FILE CREATED IN STEP 1 AND CLICK ON ?OPEN?.
d) HOLD THE CONTROL KEY ON YOUR KEYBOARD AND LEFT CLICK
EVERY FILE AND FOLDER IN THE LIST.
e) ONCE ALL THE FILES ARE HIGHLIGHTED, RIGHT CLICK ON ONE OF THEM AND CLICK ON ?EXTRACT OBJECTS?.
f) NAVIGATE TO THE NEW FOLDER THAT YOU CREATED ON YOUR
HARD DRIVE AND CLICK ?OK?.
g) WAIT FOR THE PROCESS TO FINISH THEN CLOSE ISOBUSTER.

3) CONVERT THE EXTRACTED FILES INTO 2 BIN FILES.

a) OPEN CDVDGEN.
b) SELECT ?CREATE NEW PROJECT? AND THEN SELECT ?DVD-ROM
MASTER DISC?. DRAG CDVDGEN TO THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR
SCREEN.
c) NAVIGATE TO THE FOLDER THAT YOU CREATED ON YOUR HARD
DRIVE BACK IN STEP 2 AND OPEN IT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR SCREEN.
d) SET THE WIDTH OF THAT WINDOW SO THAT IT IS ONLY 1 FILE WIDE. THIS WILL PLACE THE FILES INTO THE SAME ORDER AS THEY WERE ON THE GAME DISK BUT YOU SHOULD CHECK THEM FOR CORRECT ORDER JUST IN CASE.
e) CLICK ON EDIT > SELECT ALL.
f) DRAG ALL THE FILES INTO THE RIGHT SIDE OF CDVDGEN.
g) LOOK FOR A SLUS OR SLES FILE AND WRITE DOWN THE FULL NAME AND THEN CLICK ON THE ?VOLUME? TAB IN CDVDGEN.
h)TYPE SLUS OR SLES (WHICHEVER YOUR FILE NAME IS) INTO THE 1ST BOX NEAR "DISC NAME"
i) TYPE ALL OF THE NUMBERS FROM YOUR FILE NAME, WITHOUT THE PERIOD, INTO THE 2ND BOX.
j) TYPE PLAYSTATION FOR THE PRODUCER NAME AND SELECT THE APPROPRIATE LICENSE AREA.
k)CLICK ON "REC...".
l)SELECT YOUR DESIRED STORAGE LOCATION AND NAME THE FILE STAR.IML
m)YOU WILL GET 2 ERRORS, JUST CLICK OK FOR BOTH.
n)THE RECORDING SCREEN WILL POP UP, CLICK ON FILE > EXPORT IMAGE AND SAVE IT ON ONE OF YOUR HARD DRIVES (NOT IN A FOLDER) NAME IT STAR.LST
o) WHEN IT'S FINISHED, YOU WILL HAVE 2 FILES NAMED STAR.000 AND STAR.001
p)CLOSE CDVDGEN AND GO TO STEP 4.

4) MERGE THE .000 AND .001 FILES INTO A SINGLE ISO IMAGE.
THE EASIEST WAY TO MERGE THE FILES IS FROM A COMMAND SCREEN.
YOU WON'T HAVE TO INSTALL AN EXTRA PROGRAM THAT MAY NEED
EXTRA FILES TO WORK AND COME ON, ADMIT IT, DOS IS SO MUCH FUN!!
a)CLICK THE WINDOWS START BUTTON AND CLICK ON RUN.
b)TYPE CMD IN THE BOX AND HIT ENTER.
c)CHANGE THE DIRECTORY TO MATCH WHERE YOUR STAR.000 AND STAR.001
FILES ARE STORED.
EXAMPLE- IF THEY ARE ON THE C DRIVE, TYPE CD C:\ AND HIT ENTER.
IF THEY ARE ON ANOTHER DRIVE, TYPE THE DRIVE LETTER WITH A COLON AND HIT ENTER.
d)ONCE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT DIRECTORY-
TYPE COPY/B STAR.000 + STAR.001 STAR.ISO AND THEN HIT ENTER.
e)WHEN IT'S FINISHED YOU WILL HAVE A NEW ISO IMAGE NAMED STAR.ISO THAT YOU CAN NOW BURN IN STEP 5.

5) BURN THE NEW ISO IMAGE ONTO A BLANK DVD.
USE YOUR FAVORITE DVD BURNING UTILITY TO BURN IT AT THE
SLOWEST SPEED.

-----thanks to Winning11 for these instructions
