Hey, i am thinking about modding my ps2 but i read something about mod chips damaging the ps2 laser. Is this true? What will happen and why does the laser get damaged? Any way to avoid this? Thanks

playing burnt discs is what hurts the laser. There is a flaw in the new slim ps2's, but there is also a fix.

the discs are less reflective than orginal discs, or harder to read.
