SAVING DATA TO DVD

I need to save a bunch of data files to a DVD-R but I only own a DVD-ROM DRIVE AND A cd-rewriteable drive.

Is there any way or do i have to buy a DVD writer hardware?
I use windows XP.

two choices here.
1.. go buy the dvd burner so you can use your dvd-r

2.. write your data to cdr across multiple discs instead of one dvd-r

before buying a burner, think about your PC specs and what you'll be doing with that burner.
