I hope this is the correc t forum. I am looking for some general information. I really enjoy copying movies and have several ripping and burning programs. I have two DVD writers on my second IDE channel. It is connected using an 80 pin IDE cable and both DVD writers are set to Cable Select as the 80 pin cable supports cable select. When I went into device manager to ck my settings on my secondary cable the "0" device which is a Sony DRU 710A was currently running on PIO mode even though I had switched it to Ultra DMA.When I checked each DVD drive in device manager it reports it is inUltra DMA 4 mode. Why is my sec cable showing PIO mode for one of its locations on the cable? mle56
