My grandfather recently got a Benny Hill DVD which will not play sound on his Citizen DVD player (don't know exact model), except for the HBO Video intro. file which has 2-channel audio (the rest of the disc is mono). I have tried every possible audio setting on his player but it won't work; his player doesn't appear to be able to play a mono DVD.

Is there any way to rip the DVD and copy it in stereo so that it will play in his player? I don't care about true "stereo" sound -- I just want him to be able to watch and hear it.
