cant get sound from divx , because of ac3.help

i have 2 divx movie files and 2 srt files i know how to put the srt (subs) in the movie files but the files come with AC3 i have no idea what to do with this, when i tried to place the srt in the video files using virtualdub it could not find the audio, do i have to do something with ac3 to bring audio and video? basically id just liek to put it on dvd to watch it if possible if i play it on computer it works with audio but id like to put the subs in and i cant because of the audio issue
