i just purchased an a03 dvd burner, and when i rip dvd movies i might get lucky if i hit 1x speeds. other people can hit about 4x speeds with their drive. is there a way to improve my drives performance????please help.

Are you using a DVD-RW or DVD-R? If you're using a DVD-R, your speed should be 2x. If it's a DVD-RW, then your speed will be 1x. I have burned quite a lot of DVD's and these are the only speeds that I have seen or used.
