With the new PS2 Slim am I able to connect a external hard drive to it? Meaning connecting it to the usb or can I get one installed inside? Also is it possible to connect a PS2 slim to a computer through the network card or some other way and use that hard drive in the computer like that?

Where can I find out all the mods you can do to one?

No hard drive or multi-tap support for the PSTwo.
Sorry, there's just nothing right now to do about it.

Also, there probably won't be one in the future, seeing as the PSTwo only has 2 USB 1.1 ports, far too slow for HD loading.

It has a built-in ethernet card, allowing for online play. The very same as you would a PS2 with the broadband adapter.

As for mods, you can chip it (lots of different chips, along with additional fixes) or use one of the methods in this thread :
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/148012

The above thread focuses specifically with getting Swap Magic 3.3 to work on the new v12.

Oh, if you plan on using Swap Magic, be sure to use Swap Magic 3.3, as its the only version of it that will work on PSTwo.

Personally, I use a fliptop and Swap Magic to boot my backups on my Slimline PS2. I haven't had problems yet.

Let me tell you the main difference between the slimtool and the ps2lid (http://www.ps2lid.com). The slimtool is easier to install and doesn't even require you to open up your PSTwo. It'll have the console read as if the lid is ALWAYS closed.

With the PS2LiD you have to open up the PS2, install the lid, and you might have to remove the spring that came with your original lid.

You lose some functionality, and it's a major pain in the ass. However, the ONE advantage it has is that will allow you to do swaps requiring the lid to open, and swaps that don't.

In other words, if you ever plan on using a cheat device with your backups, like code breaker, you won't be able to unless you have a PS2Lid.

Hope that answers all your questions. If not, post in that thread I pointed you to. It's a thread where we're trying to get everyone with PSTwos to discuss Swap Magic.
