I rip and encode licensed adult DVD’s for use on adult pay sites. One of my clients has been complaining about not being able to load the wmv files that I provide for them into Vegas or Premiere Pro for editing. The process I was using might be old and maybe outdated, which is why I am here ;)

Here’s what I was doing…

DVD Decrypter – to rip the vob files
DVD2AVI – to get the d2v + wav
VFAPI – to extract avi file from d2v
VFAPI again with the avs file to get the full avi with sound
Cleaner 5 – encode to wmv

I figured the vfapi might be the problem since the codec is not standard. So I switched my process and got Dr Divx to encode the avi files straight from the vob’s ripped off the dvd, which is now causing me a new problem. Quite a few of the dvd’s I get have multiple vob files per scene, after encoding the avi’s and trying to merge them with the boilsoft joiner program it errors out, not letting me join them at all.

Need some opinions and help with the best process to get from a-b without a hitch! :)
