I have been getting a low level hum (FM carrier signal?) from my cable (75 ohm) - how can I eliminate it?

First I feed my cable signal into the RF of a VCR then out of the RCA Audio/Video connectors to a capture device (Dazzle 150) to computer.

Video is great but audio has the hum which can be heard in quiet scenes.

Thanks for help in advance!

I believe they are shielded, i am using dubbing cables that come in 3 rca color coded format:
Red- Right Audio White - left audio and Yellow for video

If this hum was a standard frequency, i should be able to remove it through audio software too.

Thanks

It could be 60hz electric.
Goldwave has a bulit in filter for that.
If it's not that, then try to reroute your cables away from all others, especially 110v sources.
It could also be a dirty VCR.

Black holes are where God divided by zero...

Thanks,
I'll try the Goldwave filter - I remember that FM radio broadcast had a carrier signal, I wonder if Cable TV has the same?
