power calibration error FIXED!

greetings, this is my first post... i have been lurking for a bit due to the dreaded power calibration error. I believe i found a possible fix that had not been addressed before. (sorry, but i have already deleted my old logs, so i dont have anything to show y'all)
background: running xp w/ sp2, using a NEC 2100AD DVD+RW combo drive, and the error occured only in nero 6.6.0.6 when attempting to burn dvd ts_video files. i had tried _all_ the fixes offered for this issue (imapi, aspi, dma, drivers, firmware, media, speed, cleaning the lens, etc.) and was still getting PCE. i was able to burn w/ dvd decrypter and dvd shrink (but only *.iso and bin/cue files) so i knew my drive was functioning. In nero burning rom, the error would occur early on, and in the logs i was noticing that the error always occured just after the booktype step.

this is what i did:
in the Burning ROM toolbar go to
recorder> choose recorder...
click the options button
in 'booktype settings' selected 'current recorder settings' (changed from automatic [which was choosing dvd-rom, according to error logs])
click ok

havent had an issue since, and yes, it works on my standalone dvd. hope this works for some of you :-)
