I installed the Matrix Infinity chip recently but I ran into a problem. When I turn it on, it won?t boot or display anything. The power light is Red. If I push the reset button, it turns green and then red again. I took the mod chip out, but it still does the same thing. I?ve checked all the solder points and I don?t see any bridges.
Based on these symptoms, I was wondering if anyone had some idea as to why it is doing this or what to check next.
Ahhh someone with the same problem as me.......i know what your going through, i only just got myne installed afew days ago. Im Going to have to go back to the installer to get his shit checked out and i was really having fun with all my elfs :-( Im just trying to make sure it isnt software related before i take it back so i dont look like a dork.

i am having this same problem i am using the crystal chip and the neo xii laser fix and install this in a slim ps2 version 70012, when everything was soldered in i would get the green light for a second and then the red light, i have noticed though if you take out the dialup mdm the green light comes on and stays on, but i still am getting a black screen, i have completely taken out the chip and still the same as when the chip was in, i have done many ps2's just no slim's, my personal opinion is the new slim's just ain't worth it, and if anyone has a solution i would be greatful
Well i got the same Problem. You didnt mention if you installed some kind of laser protection chip, but i did. I sent an email to the matrix infinty site and this his reply:

Hi Ran,
your English is pretty good :-)
As for issue, I belive that the problem most certainly is coming from
the PIC12C508 of the Laser protection fix.
Probably the PS2 you have is too sensible and need a resistance of
higher
or lower value connected to the PIC of the laser protection.
Other possibility is that the PIC of the Laser protection got ruined.
Pass these info to the technician that made the work and he will
understand
what I am saying and what to do to solve the problem.
