Could my burner be damaging media disc during process?

I have a new Artec 12X DVD+/-RW Drive
Using FUJIFILM 8X DVD-R 4.7GB discs
I use NERO RECODE2 for disc to disc
DVD Decrypter for Ripping
DVD Shrink for compression and burning
So far I've backed up about 15 movies and every single one causes a read error when trying to make a copy of a copy.
To further investigate I play the copy in a stand alone player and forward to the pont of error and sure enough there is a bad glitch.
To the common eye the DVD disc appears to be flawless.
What is going on? I really appreciate any help folks.

It could be the quality of your media. Fujifilm is known to use less then quality manufacturers. What is the Media ID of your disks? DVDD will list the media ID in the box btw.

I dont see where it lists media ID. I have decrypter open and am looking at disc info.
also might it be a problem that im using DVD-R and not +R?
should i look into new discs rather than worry about taking back the drive?

If those fuji's are made in Japan,they I.D. at TY GO2(very good),but they burn at 12x in my Pioneer burner,which might be too fast for some systems,and burners.

just coppy and paste everything that is in the info box in DVDD when you are in ISO write mode.

Are you possibly copying the disk on the fly?
If so try copying to the hard drive first just to see if this may be the problem then we can go from there. Just put the disk you want to copy in your burner and use Nero in the copy disk mode It will then put an image on your hard drive and then prompt you when to put the blank in. It will then erase the image from your HD. Lets see if it works this way first before you do anything else. I think I may know your problem, but I don't want to speculate at this time just yet.

You say you are copying a copy? So are you copying the copy on the fly?
Why use Nero Recode for this?
Just use Nero copy disk function there is no need to recode or decrypt the disk again this has been done already so there should be no encryption on the movie anyway.

I've tried copying on the fly (NERO)....didn't work.
I've tried copyin with HD save (NERO)....didn't work.
I've tried re-ripping it to HD with (RECODE2, DVDD and DVDSHRINK....didn't work.
I'm beginning to think that I am sonehow damaging my media when in the burning process. I can go to the exact part where the ripping or burning stops and there will be a glitch in the movie.
I am very careful with the discs before and after use. So now I'm beginning to think it's either the media or the recorder. Both are described above.

How sure are you that the disk you are trying to copy are any good?
Try backing up an original Movie and then see if it produces the same outcome. This could help narrow down the problem.

Very good point. After work ill try burning a the newest movie i have that i am sure is free of scratches and what not. then well see if im able to copy that copy.
