Have decided to buy a DVD Writer. Is a Pioneer 109 any good, or can you advise on a better one? I wish to backup my DVD's and burn my home movies to DVD-R. Which media is best to use? Is Verbatim a better disc than Ritek, or are they the same? Cheers, Midbob.

Hi,

I would buy a NEC 3520A for $62.99 on NEWEGG.com and lots of people here would say the same. Also yes the PIONEER is a good burner as well. I would use Verbatim or TY discs only. Although Memorex works fine with my NEC burner, but probably wont work to well with a PIONEER burner.
