Is there a difference? I heard that extractions through the PC are better(I'm not talking about patches). I ask this because I hear that there are a lot of bugs when you extract Xenosaga Episode 2 through the PS2. I'm getting it from Amazon in a few days so I really have to know.

I'm using HD Advance 2.0 btw.

Well I am no PS2 Expert (I don't even own one) but, I would think that extraction via the PS2 would be better.
IMO, I would say if your backing up (as you said not patching) then I would just use your PS2.
Trial and error, just do it a few times with an RW DVD.
