Help with Pioneer A_04 & That's Right DVD-R

I heard that that right dvd-r's can burn up to 2 speed but i can burn only on 1 speed.

I checked for a firmware update but nothing

can anybody help me out ???

What program are you using to burn with? The first couple of discs I burned with DVD Decryptor only burned at 1x. Then I changed the speed setting from Maximum to 2x and since then I have been getting 2.1x.

if the media you are burning with is only 1x compatible then the pioneer drive will only burn at 1x. i have the same exact drive and i had the same problem i had some blank disks which i thought were 2x compatible and they kept burning at 1x. when i put another different brand of disk in there that was actually 2x. the drive burnt at 2x. the point is make sure your media is actually 2x compatible.
