Came to ask if that was the reason my PS2 would random shut-off after 15 minutes or so but there's already a thread on that.

Have an old v2 SCPH-30001 model, wondered where I could buy a new one for it, or if that plug-in USB fan would work.

yeah a USB fan should work.

or even a little desk fan, next to your PS2 (elevating it would help) could keep it cool.
