Play Back On Standalone DVD Player

Using a single file then authoring without chapters, I burn to an ?R disk, the DVD plays OK on the standalone player.

I then use several video files authored using Nero Reloaded and created chapters.
I burn this to an ?R DVD disk and the standalone says ?No Disk?

Then I merge the files into one and re author and do not create chapters, burn to an ?R disk, it plays OK.

If I burn to an +R disk using bitsetting (-ROM) all combinations work OK.

I would appreciate some assistance as it appears the standalone for some reason does not like chapters on an ?R disk.
