when i play some of the dvds i made with shrink, i get parts where there will be pixelations, or littel blocks in the movie....is it my media, my player, or did i do something wrong??
Media is usually the culprit. Too fast burn speed can also cause this.
Slow it down.
At least your player is trying to play it. There's something about those backups that it don't like. Usually a high quality media and a sensible burn speed of 4x will fix it.
Get some good media-ty,ritek,maxell,.
If you got some cheap, poor, generic brand=low quality media-Slow down that burn speed until you run out of them.
How do they look in your pc-The drive that burned it?
What brand/speed/format of media are you burning?
How fast u burning them?
Is the pixellation in any certain are or throughout?
Do you use labels on those backups?
Do you multi-task during any of the dvd backup process?
i used maxell dvds, but i burned at max speed(8x)
i did not watch them on my pc...i will check
maxell dvd's used
burned at 8x
pixellation is random....
labels??? if you mean do i label them after the burn, no i dont
i do other stuff while i burn them...i get bored....
Those maxells should be pretty good, try reducing your burn speed to 4x. I used a lot of the maxell -8x's,but I still burned them at 4x. 4x is about normal and it can prevent a lot of playback issues.Especially on certain stand alone players. They will tell you if something is wrong with your burn.
Multi-tasking can also cause these issues. I usually turn off the internet and don't do anything with the pc during any of the dvd backup process.Just set it and forget it. DVD Shrink uses 100% of your processor during this process.
Avoid paper-stick on labels. These can cause some problems. Some people label before burn-big no no.
Since pixellation is random, try burning at4x. Should only take 15 minutes.
If you are having trouble at the end of your movies, reducing the target size to about 4300-4360 mbs would help.I have mine set at 4360 mbs.
i just wanted to say thanks....after i made 4 coasters on memorex dvd's i took your advice and used the maxell dvds i had, 4x burn speed and no multi-tasking...and it worked!!
