just go to www.google.com and ttype in edonkey and yes you can use 56k but it will take hours to download stuff, the best p2p is www.imesh.com and it works better cuz they let you connect to multiple users for each download making it faster

but dial up sucks man go cable or dsl

WHAT??????? eDonkey is 100 times better than imesh. you can get edonkey2000 from http://www.edonkey2000.com

But for speed requirements, i suggest eMule which is a newer edonkey really and faster much faster http://emule-project.net

now that i see and use it i still say imesh is better
emule isnt user friendly and requires to the use of specific addresses for the servers before you can even use it

When you have emule and get a server.met file so easily, you can use sharereactor, filenexus, fildonkey etc.. all the best sharing groups on the net! Anything that is on irc hits sharereactor or filenexus within 12 hours usually! then it hits kazaa and imesh after a week with a shitty downsampled copy or never at all!

I use eDonkey2000 on 56k.
I don't use eMule.
eDonkey2000 is great.
Just make sure you limit your uploads to 1kb.
and click on reconnect on loss on the options.

I would really recommend you switch to emule until the new edonkey comes out cause, you know edonkey and stuff gettin stuck kinda combine but that doesnt happen with emule. I used edonkey a lot too. When you set max upload to 1 though, your downloads are set to 3 so if you have a faster than 56k and are reading this, dont limit your upload bandwidth!

also, imesh is made for new users, edonkey and emule is a step up so it cant be that easy, the next step of everything isnt!
