I need some advice on basic authoring. I ideally only want to transfer my mini DV camcorder footage to DVD with a menu and chapters. The only editing to the video that I want to do is to possiby cut/trim some of the footage out. Am I right in saying that for better quality of video it is better to import the video as MPEG-2(DVD) instead of an AVI file (and encoding) and use a program that can add menus and cut the footage ?, I am currently trying Ulead Movie Factory 3, this I believe has an option to copy direct to disc and add menus, although I have not had a chance to try this yet.
