Its easy. Take the front cover off you slideing tray. that part sucks because the clips on the end are easy to break. open the tray regularly, insert swapmagic. stick you slide card in about an inch to the left under the tray. slide all the way to the right. pull out your tray. insert the burned disc.push the tray in slowly but not all the way. put your slidecard under the tray all the way to the right. you shoul feel it cach. slide it left. then press square.

I used this type of method for a short while and it works. However, I like to mess with the inside of the PS2 as little as possible. You can get a fliptop for 15-20 dollars. I would reccommend saving up and getting one because in the long run it will keep your ps2 in better condition.

Im not sure if you were responding to my post. If you are, I have it for the big (original PS2).

You have to have a tool to open the ps2 tray WITHOUT pressing eject.
It is IMPOSSIBLE without it.

Swap magic disks must be originals in order to work,
backup copies will not work.

What do you mean that only the original swapmagic will work and not back up copies? It is software right? I never knew that burned copies of software wouldn't function as well as the original. Can anyone else please give some feedback on this subject.

because ps2 won't read the burned copies. That is the whole reason you need SwapMagic. If you could boot a backup of SwapMagic, then why wouldn't you be able to just boot a backup of a ps2 game?
The reason you can't boot backups straight is because our burners aren't capable of reading/burning in the BCA (burst cutting area) which is where the boot information is pressed onto ps2 discs.
