when i am recording from vhs to dvd via my win tv pci card..i have noticed there are two thick black lines at the top and bottom of the screen..which is more prounonced when i am playing it back? any ideas..as it is taking up most of the screen..and the image looks a bit 'squashed'

Sounds like some kind of widescreen resolution issue.
