Messiah 2 Problems... any help?

Okay I have a V7 US PS2 and a Messiah 2 Mod Chip. I've installed many chips in the past and this is the first time I ran into this kind of problem. LoL.. here I go...

So I wired it all up as I usually do sealed and turned on. Booted with Original game great. Booted with burned CD-R great. Booted with DVD-R great. 3 Months later after taking it to a friends house, at home no boot any backups (red screen, please insert valid ps2 disc). Only originals wwork now...?!?...

Possibly wire came loose during drive? Nope I opened it up and double checked each wire and even did a continuity test with my multimeter and everything checks out fine.

So what now folks? I've only installed 6 chips before so I'm no pro (all Messiah 2) but this is a first. BTW this system is my personal PS2 LoL... Possible chip died?
