"Can't find DVD drive info" message with DVD X copy 1.3

I just bought DVD X Copy 1.3. I'm using the HP 200E (external) dvd writer with a +RW disk. I use an internal DVD player for the source DVD. (WinXP SR1)

DVD X Copy copys the files to my HD for the first disk, then gives me the error "Can't find DVD drive info". The program then shuts down. (Very frustrating !!)

The files are on my hard drive. Should I just copy them to the DVD+RW disk?
I thought I would be able to write directly from the source DVD to the HP200E writer.

Any help appreciated.

dvdx copy is not recognizing your external burner go to the website for dvdx copy and make sure your burner is listed in the list for compatible burners in that program if it is not you will have to email them and they will be able to add your burner to the list then you would probably have to download that uploaded version.
