1) Use a program that burns data CD's (like Nero, Roxio, etc...)

2) No, not unless your DVD Player can play AVI files (which I've found that they can't). You'll have to have a DVD burner, and burn them to a DVD to play 'em on a DVD Player.

I've never used Nero, so I can't give a detailed example, but if you Google for "DataCD making with Nero" it'll probably give you some results.

Hi Carmen; I to am a newb so bare with me & if I'm wrong someone on here will correct me(I hope). You have to open up Nero Visionexpress. When you do, Highlight "Make a CD" & click on either Video CD or Supervideo CD. Supervideo is better quality but you get less time on a CD. Video is about the same quality as VHS & you get about 60 Min. of video. When you get to the 2nd screen click on "Make a movie", there is where you can brows for your .avi's & add them to your movie. You can then create chapters, then a menu, & then burn. Nero will encode it automatically & burn it to a CD.Hope this helps!!

I'm not clear on what you did. After you clicked on "Make a Movie", did you have a screen with a Timeline, a Previewer, and a box where you can add all your video & music files? Under the box with all the files, there is a button to browes for files. You just have to browes for your AVI files & add them to this box. Then you can drag & drop them into your Timeline in the order you want them. Once they are in the Timeline you should be able to see one of them in the video preview window in the top left hand corner. You can then play a preview of the movie, splice it, or cut out parts you don't like, etc..

When you put the CD into the computer do you get the box asking what you'd like to do(play using WMP,open folder to view files,or to do nothing)? If you do, open the folder to view files. You should have 5 files(CDI,EXT,MPEGAV,SEGMENT,& VCD),well at least I do anyways. If you have those files then just click on MPEGAV
& then click on whatever comes next. It should start playing with whatever is the default player. If not,I'm sorry, but that goes beyond my expertise.
