I have searched and searched the forums and nothing is working.
Can someone give me step by step instructions?
I am trying to connect the xbox to my pc via my router.
I tried changing the ip addresses as per other forums but then my internet closes, is this right?
All the help needed!
Thanks

I have a link in my sig. Check it out ;)

Also, does your router recognize the connection? You also said that your internet "closes." That shouldn't be. If you're having problems then make your xbox have a "static" i.p., and try to FTP then. It could also be your firewall that's blocking the connection. You could try turning it off or editing the settings to where it recognizes your xbox's i.p.

i should look at your xbox dash and see your ip and connect using ws_ftp pro(it comes with free trial) its a very easy to use program and very visual. if u have problems connecting and you use norton u should check your norton worm protect autoblock rules becuase it disconnects any ftp connections check the other stuff in your windows firewall as well. and if all ellse fails try a different meathed of doing what your trying to do . if u have any questions ask

yo...
xbox kicks ass...:-D

the settings that worked for me is pc:
manual ip: 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask:255.255.255.0
all other connections off!

xbox:
manual ip: 192.168.0.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.0.1
use static ip: yes

*also make sure you scroll to the bottom of the xbox dashboard settings and click save and exit!! or else it wont work and you always have to edit the settings!

okay - hopefully some admin will see this and put it in a more appropriate place...

set up your xbox to recieve dynamic ip (static ip off)

set your network card's ip settings as follows (in tcp/ip):

ip address: 192.168.0.1
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: (leave blank)

now....

turn off your xbox, make sure the crossover is connected ok and then turn it back on.

will work. believe
