Encoding Problem with Widescreen

Hi, I'm having trouble trying to encode something that I recorded in Widescreen. At the moment I've got AVSVideoConverter3.exe, OSS Media Converter Pro, and TMPGEnc Plus-2.57.41.146, which when encodes, changes it back to the 4:3 format, even when I leave it as source or change it to the exact frame size in custom. VirtualDub-1.5.10 doesn't seem to read the file at all?

At the moment I was recorded in mpeg format, of a TV tunner card (Vision Plus HD Digital)?

Can anyone help? Thanks
