Does anyone here know a programme that will compress a avi file to fit to a dvd-r, without losing quality! I use nero vision express 3 to convert it but this certain file is to large to fit on a dvd-r and I have to use longplay, after burning the file I watched the movie but the quality was alot poorer than when I watched the movie using my pc.
If you don't want to lose quality, learn how to use TMPGEnc, Mainconcept, or Canopus with the right settings.
How long (running time) is the movie?
What is it's framerate?
What is it's aspect ratio?
The frame rate is 23f/sec, aspect ratio 16:9, running time is2 hours 32 mins! Where can I find a good guide for using the programmes you mentioned above? Thanks for you help!
Thanks reboot, im trying it now, it seems very slow, I got a remaining time of 25 hours when im disconnected and 35 whan I am connected! Is that normal?
With 2-pass VBR settings in TMPGEnc, motion search precision set to slowest, yes, it will take that long.
There are ways to speed it up, but at a loss in quality.
