Why is it that they charge so much money for anydvd when you don't even know how long you will get out of it before you have to buy something else.It is a gamble buying it.who knows that they don't come out with some new encryption and anydvd doesn't work anymore. if they made it more affordable maybe i would think about buying it

If you want an inexpensive program, then use DVDDcrypter, a free program. 39$US is about the cost of only two of your "original" discs that you are backing up. That is a bargain any time. Your choice.

I do use dvd dycryptor but i believe any dvd is a better program. it works really well with DVD Shrink i have backed up all the movies so far with no problems at all.

AnyDVD offers free lifetime updates - 1 year tech support. They have been very good at keeping ahead of any new protection. I also have DVD Decrypter and Shrink (both great programs) but more often than not I use AnyDVD with Nero Recode. Using the 2 - newer movies even the ones with the Sony Arcos and Puppetlock protection only take about 20 - 25 mins from start to finish.
