I was wondering why some games tend to be slow when they are burned and normal when they are original.

I use a swap magic 2 disc with nosolder mod.

For example: When I was playing FFX-2 it would be very slow at cutscenes and some models would be missing, then they would appear again about a few seconds later. When playing with a original disc it loads everything fine.

Is this related to the quality of the disc, burning software, burner?

It could be the media, your burner, or the laser in the PS2. I have not really had that problem with my backups. The only similar experience i have had is when playing PAL games on my NTSC system. The vocals and cut scenes are sometimes a little choppy, that and the very bottom of the screen is missing due to the conversion.
