For the main movie you'll have these for audio selections:

1. AC3 5.1-ch English ........ 371MB
2. DTS 5.1-ch English ........ 626MB
3. AC3 2-ch French ........ 159MB
4. AC3 2-ch English ........ 159MB

Uncheck DTS and AC3 French (at least that's what I would do)

You could try Shrink > re-author > movie only, then uncheck everything but 5.1 English audio. This worked fine for me.

Flight of the Phoenix has a bizarre menu system that I didn't want any part of - besides the usual FBI, Interpol, commentary disclaimers, ratings, previews stuff, it also had a 2 minute blurb on don't steal DVDs. This complexity could be the audio problem if you don't just backup all audio options with the menus in a whole disk backup.

I dunno what your doing ... but I decided to see if I would have this problem.

Ripped w/ DVD Decrytper first. Open video_ts file w/ DVD Shrink. Unchecked DTS 5.1-ch English and AC3 2.1-ch French. Unchecked Spanish and French subtitles. Clicked backup, checked "perform deep analysis", saved video_ts file to HD. Burned video_ts file w/ copytodvd.

All went well, watching backup now w/ sound.

I did it just like grampaw, main movie only, except i edited out the extra crap at the beginning and most of the ending credits and go around 10% compression. AC3 5.1 ch english only. Beautiful, near original backup.

I got a good copy using AnyDVD and shrink. No problems at all. Played back great on my player, too.
