After a recent drive re-format, Nero (6.3.1.25)now won't work with my Pikaone external DVDRW drive.

Problem: When i open either Nero StartSmart or Nero burning rom (choose recorder) the drive's tray constantly ejects and inserts (with or without any disc). I can only stop this by closing the program. Now, prior to the re-format Nero worked fine with the Pikaone drive but (i think) i was using a different version of Nero. I've now tried another 3 versions of Nero since i've had this problem but i can't solve it.

I've also tried to upgrade the firmware of the drive without success - keep getting error message - but this has always been the case and it worked ok before.

The Nero info tool picks up the drive ok and has the correct read/write speeds for the Pikaone drive. When i click on "choose recorder" this is what i see:

Image recorder - SCSI ID (-) Adapter - virtual device Adapter No. (-) Status - OK.

DVDRW IDE 1008 - SCSI ID (0) Adapter - TPPIOSTB
Adapter No. (2) Status - OK.

LITE-ON LXR-24101A - SCSI ID (0) Adapter - TPPIOSTB
Adapter No. (3) Status - OK.

I've uninstalled the Lite-on drive and just used the Pikaone DVDRW but the problem is still there.

I hope someone can solve this problem. Thanks.
