I have tried to back up 2 different PS2 games "off road" and "square pants" using alcohol 120%. Burn process as described by owner went successful (it appears). Do the swap card process as described by the instructions from there site. At the Load screen is where i swap out the boot disk and put in backup. Once door is closed and pin is replaced to close position, i click x for load. I then get "not a valid PS2 disc". I have read many posts to no avail. I am using a CD-r disk. The original discs are purple as instructed for cd rom backups. Can someone please help. I want to be successful at this before I go and get a dvd burner.

To add to this, I just purchased a plextor external DVD burner. Used there DVD creator to backup a movie of mine and that won't play on PS2 but will on my home DVD player. I can load the original DVD in the playstation w/o problem. Media-Memorex DVD-R, Burn SW - Roxio DVD Creator. To know its not my Swap 3.3 should I at least be able to load an original DVD via swap at the "load" prompt?

I suggest burning your ps2 dvd games with Dvd Decrpyter.
I know memorex is pretty crappy media, especially for ps2 games. I would think that it would work with movies though. But if the movie is playing on your dvd player, but not your ps2 seems like its a media issue then.

I have burnt the image of a PS2 game(Madden 2004, chose this because its older) using DVD Decrypter and will write that to a dvd-R tonight to see my results. Very frustrating for all the money.
Thanks in advance

Is there a site which rates CD-R media?
I'm having the same problem with emulators/CD games using Verbatim CD-Rs.
