is this normal or do I have something set wrong, sometimes you can't see part of subtitles cause background is so bright, especially when its an outside scene, is this because its a burnt dvd or is it my tv maybe or is there settings on dvd shrink or nero that can fix this?

Maybe just lower your brightness level on your TV.
I wouldn't have thought it would be caused through the burning process.
